Passed my VCP4
Friday, 02 October 2009 10:41

This morning I did the VCP4 exam. I passed with 381/500, but damn, this exam is hard! There are a lot of bloggers with great info on how to prepare, but I do have some tips too:

  • wear comfortable clothing
  • do not eat too much up front
  • prepare using the VMware Blue Print and try to pass all example exams available on the www

I think 8 hours of prep is insufficient (but been able to work with the product for some months sure helps a lot). Around 80% of my questions applies to NEW stuff in vSphere 4, around 20% was 'old' stuff from the VCP3 exam. A lot of questions nitty gritty about little words and lines in about all the manuals (pdf's) available from the VMware website.

Anyway, I passed, so now I can call myself VCP2, VCP3 and VCP4, yippie.

Congrats man I passed it as well. Before going into the exam i was nervous as i was hearing that this exam is too hard. Guess what i go much more percentage than you did. 98% good thing i bought the vcp 410 exam. Before buying i read alot of reviews about them but was not sure if they will stand up to their review. But i was surprised that everything i studied in was exactly word to word in the real exam. For a second i couldn't believe.

Thanks for your congrats, although I doubt you had 98%. The score rate goes to 500 points and not in percentages... That's why I think your comment is a straight advertisement and I've edited some stuff, hope you don't mind. After all, you've passed the exam already.
