15 seconds of fame (ready time)

I twitted about the sky high ready time on a VM. I've made a small Jing clip allowing you to see for yourself.

You can download dpclat.exe here.

So I'm quite curious what's happening here. Just one VM, affinity to CPU 0, run dpclat.exe: 15 seconds ready time. Put a load in the VM, ready time goes down... Strange!

Did you know: that ESX checks every 20ms to migrate a vCPU to another pCPU for the optimal workload balance. This is configurable (0ms - 5000ms) in Cpu.MigratePeriod in Advanced Settings of you ESX server.
